SSMC – The Art of Malt – Est. 2002
Last year’s Burns Supper was such a good time for all who attended that I am delighted to announce the Saigon Single Malt Club’s second annual Burns Supper. A Burns Supper is a day to celebrate the life and poems of Scotland’s most renowned poet Robert Burns. While the formal Burns Supper would include only the haggis, the SSMC dinner will be more diverse – in fact, as diverse as our membership. The menu will include tapas, salmon gravadlax with horseradish, beetroot and dill, duck cigars with shallot confit, haggis with nips and tatties, and for dessert death by chocolate served with Arabic coffee. Lots of single malt scotch will be served including the opening of a Lagavulin 1979 distiller’s edition to cap off what promises to be a truly memorable evening! We will keep with the tradition of the piping of the haggis, poetry reading, a Toast to the Lassies and, of course, a reply from the ladies to the toast. And yes, they are meant to be funny! You will most definitely want to be part of the fun!
